Since 1989, Gålåvatnet has been the venue for the annual performance of Peer Gynt. An outdoor performance in all kinds of weather and light, which requires special solutions for the stage and actors.
In this year’s Peer Gynt, the production wanted a curved mirror surface with a width of 27 meters and a height of 6 metres. The mirror surface was to give an extra dimension to the stage’s depth, but also be included as an active element in the performance.
It should also be possible to tilt it up with the mirror surface towards the audience, as well as be possible to climb on!
Bein Engineering took on the task and has contributed knowledge in drawing, strength calculations and hydraulics to make this idea a reality. A spectacular sight was the result.
We thank the production, by producer Eline Lysen Paulsen for the challenge and for the opportunity to take on this task, as well as photographer Bård Gundersen for the amazing photos!
